Cuban, co-founder of HDNet and owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, also said YouTube would eventually be "sued into oblivion" because of copyright violations.
"They are just breaking the law," Cuban told a group of advertisers in New York. "The only reason it hasn't been sued yet is because there is nobody with big money to sue." (hat tip)
1. YouTube isn't the one uploading the content and is actively discouraging it. Um, MySpace still hasn't been 'sued into oblivion' and we've seen mulitple teen deaths on the site.
2. We're already seeing content owners make deals with the video giant, NBC and Warner Music.
Now, Cuban knows video. His Broadcast.com made him a gajillionaire. However, I'll wonder out loud if he's got something against those dashing dudes at YouTube? Trust me, I know nothing here, but these sound like awfully passionate words.
But then, Cuban is known to rant. Possibly he does know what he's talking about. Were I in your shoes, I'd probably trust the billionaire over the gal who has $30 in her savings account.
