User generated content is all the rage.  It's what makes YouTube, Gather and Revver so immensely popular with today's users.  However, user gen content is not new.  Geocities and HomeTown AOL were both popular for their user gen content.  I still now get directed to geocities sites by Google when I am looking for HTML related sites.
