Understanding public wikis, and what they say about your business is essential as well. You need to know what Wikipedia and others say about your brand, so that you can change your business practices in response to negative reactions to your company.
However, it's important to note that changing your own, or your company's, wiki page on an external wiki is heavily frowned upon. In fact, if you don't want to cost your company a great deal of respect, make it a company policy to avoid changing, in any way, a company page on an external wiki.
