If they’ve genuinely hit the 4 million user mark, then Zebo may have hit the tipping point. But if all those members are the result of Google ads and email invites, retaining those users might be a challenge.
Alexa is widely considered to be error-ridden and based on an inaccurate method of data collection*, however, Zebo must be achieving some level of success as even half of that number would be impressive. Cashmore suggests that Google Adsense buys may be partially the reason that the site is seeing such massive numbers. And, if their ads ran through the beginning of the year only, this pattern would make a great deal of sense. If that's the case, is their longterm strategy to build such a great site that people will stay after they take the $1 click to the site?
Are you using Zebo? If so, what is your opinion on the site?
