Thus far, each social addition to the site has been met with approval. Their new homepage is SO much better with the thumbnails and a decent CSS. Their daily blog posting, now no longer experimental, is a huge hit. And, their recent beautifying of the tag posting (on your blog) feature is no less than breathtaking.
MacManus says del.icio.us is about to get more social, though.
... expanding this into a more full-featured social networking system - with commenting, groups, etc. Perhaps similar to Imeem, which combines content browsing with social networking.
I heartily look forward to my fav social bookmarking site's upcoming social-increase. I have wanted to be able to make a profile and connect to others on the site for a while. Of course, you're going to get the detractors that say, "Oh no, del.icio.us wants to be MySpace too", but I say they're just borrowing from Digg (who borrowed from them liberally to launch), and that's a smart move.
