GuruLib uses Amazon E-commerce API and Z39.50 library network protocol to access over 54 million cataloged titles to collect essential cataloging information like author/actor list, genre, synopsis, front cover etc. The virtual book shelfs can be made private and hence its contents visible only to the owner or made public and share it with your friends.
I've been playing with it for the last few weeks and I like it. In fact, with a spiffier site design, this could be Zebo for the book set. What I mean by this is that you can connect to others who have the same interests in books as you do. I like that.
If you appreciate the import feature, you can thank me for that one. Well, it was my suggestion, it's not like I actually did any work to make it happen. LOL But, for you nerds who (like me) already have your books in some sort of catalog form, this will be uber helpful.
